New York Times-style Connections for my favorite writers
Today, a little something different.
Look at the graphic below. It includes the names of 16 writers I admire.
Can you classify them into four groups of four?
In true New York Times Connections style, there are maddening overlaps, on purpose.

I’ve embedded the code for this below — if it works, you can play the game right here. However, it may not work for all browsers. If it’s not working, you can interact with it at this link, courtesy of Claire Wang.
Who are these writers?
If any of these names are unknown to you after trying the puzzle, just remember that Google is your friend.
Unsurprised that I got the purple category first (since that’s where I often work!) Even so, this one took some work! And, I haven’t read Gleick yet, so thank you for that!
Here is a free website for creating NYT Connections. It is very useful and can be inserted into other websites. It is worth a try.
