Your children

I hope you had a great holiday.
My children are grown now. I’m happy with them.
If your children are making good choices, pursuing their dreams, and approaching success on their terms, you did fine.
That has very little to do with whatever you imagined your children would be.
The hardest lesson of parenting is that your children are their own people with their own identities, goals, values, and loves.
That’s also the most important lesson.
If you’re lucky, as I was, your spouse can help you embrace this ideal and support them so they can achieve whatever they hope for.
