Just what I wanted
My Christmas present in 2024 is that I get to work all day with words, ideas, and idea people.
I could retire, but this is much better.
Thanks.

You earned it, cousin. Happy New Year to you and the family.
I can relate in the retirement thing
I did so 2nd of November but an old colleague of mine just slid a job description across my desk that 50 years of experience qualifies me to excel at
Should I ?
At this stage I’d never work for somebody else
😉 This time, if you apply, do it because it sounds like fun…not because of family obligations or bills that need to be paid. Best wishes, a fellow active retiree.
Recently, within two weeks of each other both my husband’s and my computers died. (Since then, I ordered two more, and am in the throes of getting stuff loaded, activated, set up, etc. – a tough job for a techno-ninny like me.) What are the chances of double failure like that? Highly likely for my husband and me: 25+ years ago, the transmissions on both of our cars failed within a few days of each other. Our stars are crossed or something.
Fortunately I had printed out a client’s manuscript (I prefer to edit first on print, then transfer comments and such into the computer), so I “relaxed” on Christmas Eve day working on it. This kind of work is a real relief from my inevitable hair-tearing engagement with electronics, which software makes no sense even when one follows the instructions from the manufacturer. I’m an old dog, having arrived in this life a couple generations prior to this digital age. I have just enough digital smarts to subscribe to a computer service, someone who can walk me through a lot of this.
BTW, the ms. is an engaging story.
