A holiday wish

30 years ago a new person came into my life.

23 years ago another. Nearly 20 years ago, another.

None of these people became who I imagined them to be. They have surprised me.

But all of them have enriched me beyond belief.

My family is my touchstone.

What I wish for you is not that you receive what you want, or what you ask for, or what you need, or even what you deserve.

My wish for you is that you receive what I have received — people who will allow you to love them as they are, and as they as they are becoming.

Forever.

  1. Josh, as they are your touchstone know that you also give that touch to so many of us. As this is a digital world, I also know this is set in stone. Happy Holidays to you and your family.

  2. Such a splendid piece of writing- saying so much in a short posting. Would that we all could have the situation that you do.

  3. You are the one person I read daily. I don’t always agree with you but always leave the encounter enlightened and thoughtful. Thank you for sharing so much of yourself. I wish you and yours a wonderful holiday season and look forward to many more thoughtful exchanges in 2019.
