Control Your Persona: A Digital Rights Manifesto

We are human beings, not training data.

We are not raw material for the AI slop machine.

We create. We write, we speak, we think, we publish. Our creativity is central to who we are. It is not free fuel for your models.

We alone control what we create. We can do with it as we please.

We own our image. We own our name. We own our voice. The ways we write, speak, draw, and move are uniquely ours. No one can steal them.

No matter how large and powerful your company is, you must not take our names in vain.

Technology is not destiny. We retain control of our personas.

The existence of steel does not justify chains.

The existence of cameras does not justify image capture and broadcast.

The existence of AI does not justify impersonation.

What we write, record, and share still belongs to us, regardless of where we post it.

We do not grant you permission to harness, process, regurgitate, and profit from our creativity.

We have the right to control and monetize our creative output. To use it, you must secure our agreement and compensate us. AI based on our content can never impersonate us.

The law should recognize these rights. But where it falls short, moral rights apply.

Technology, regardless of how powerful, is no more than a tool. We can use this tool to empower ourselves and create our own personas. Anyone else who does so is a criminal.

We embrace these principles and call on all AI companies to do the same.
