About the Bernoff Book Coach
I’ve helped authors of more than 70 books over the last 18 years or so. And I’ve written down everything I’ve learned in two books on writing and 4 million words on Bernoff.com, including practical, experience-based advice on every challenge authors face, from idea development and research to writing strategies, publishing models, and book promotion.
Now I’m making all of that advice available to subscribers in the form of a chatbot. I’ve closely collaborated with the AI startup Soqratic, to develop the Bernoff Book Coach chatbot, a conversational product designed to answer every question a nonfiction author might have.
The Bernoff Book Coach:
- Is based exclusively on content from Bernoff.com, along with my books including Build a Better Business Book and my research studies. All answers are drawn from this content, and only this content. This ensures that the advice you get is part of a consistent, evidence-based approach to what it takes to be a successful author.
- Addresses not just factual issues, but motivational ones. The Bernoff Book Coach can certainly help you create a successful book proposal, organize an effective table of contents, or structure a chapter. But it will also help you understand what agents and publishers want, how to collaborate with coauthors or ghostwriters, and how to motivate yourself for the challenging task of writing and publishing a book.
- Is free from all commercial bias. There are no ads or promotional content in the Bernoff Book Coach. All recommendations it makes are focused on how authors can succeed. The chatbot’s only source of revenue is your subscription.
- Remembers and adapts to your authoring challenge. As you work with the Bernoff Book Coach, it learns your situation and remembers your challenges and choices. The advice is not generic, it’s specific to you: your book, your publisher, your expertise, your ideas, your frustrations, and your past questions and answers.
- Is confidential and secure. Your questions and answers are not shared with or used to train any large language model.
The Bernoff Book Coach isn’t free, but it’s as inexpensive as we can make it. It’s $1.99 to get started and $17.95 a month after that, with discounts for an annual membership. If you’re at all serious about writing a book, you’ll likely be investing thousands of dollars and hundreds of hours of your time. This level of advice is a bargain. If you don’t find value in it, you can end your subscription at any time.
